Pat Hollingsworth learned a love of nature and growing things in a rural community at an early age.
Over 25 years ago she left a career in International Banking to pursue her interest in horticulture, joining the staff of The Planter’s Palette in Winfield, Illinois.
Subsequently Pat was the Retail Manager at The Natural Garden where she was able to pursue her interest in native plants and environmentally sound landscaping practices.
Her designs have been featured in Chicagoland Gardening Magazine. She has been a contributing writer to the Art of Gardening column in The Daily Herald. Photographs and writings have been published in American Nurseryman.
She has helped homeowners and gardeners throughout the Chicago area for many years. With sound horticultural advice and design guidance, homeowners are provided the tools they need to plant and care for their own landscapes.
Pat says “Some of my best work has been owner installed”.
Besides teaching Horticulture classes at College of Du Page, Pat is currently working with RLS Landscape and Nursery Co. RLS specializes in patios, retaining walls, shoreline restoration, gardens and landcapes.
RLS does many projects for the City of Geneva and is currently working with homeowners and developers on shoreline properties in Lake Holiday, Sandwich, IL.
There are many examples of their fine work in the western suburbs of Chicago. Current projects are often featured on their FaceBook page.
